For a first offense, I think there should be punishment (such as a fairly large fine) and be educated on the species plight.
If caught a second time, prison should be an option. It is horrible what happened to those gorillas as this was execution style and in cold blood. I think it also makes it more difficult to read about since gorillas are so similar to humans.

I think that these individuals should be held accountable for this horrible deed. No matter whater what the reason was , it does not justify
what took place. They should be punished accrding to the law in that country. I have great empathy for these magnificant creatures one life taken is one to many.

I am speechless as to what has happened in that country! Unspeakable acts of violence! These murderers deserve NO mercy! Even killing the people protecting these beautiful animals. These butchers are souless creatures and should be treated as such!!! HOPE THEY ROT IN HELL!!!!!!!!!!!

I hope the people who committed this heinous crime are found and brought to justice, seeing that baby Gorilla trying do suckle from her dead mother was heart breaking to say the least
.Leslee said a fine but you can't get blood from a stone. They should be held accountable and if found guilty put to death as a possible deterrent to stop this from ever happening again

Fines are not the answer. Impoverished people have no way to pay them and if they attempt to, they resort to poaching for profit. Normal jail time is not the answer either. As horrendous as the jails conditions are, oftentimes people would rather be there where they at least have food. The answer is a sentence of death.
