I never saw the tornado, but way back when I was in middle school, I spent a week in soccer camp at Michigan State University. We were outside, the sky went quickly from slightly overcast to a strange greenish hue and the wind starting picking up like crazy. Seemingly out of nowhere, counselors starting yelling like mad for everyone to get inside. We raced to the basement and I'll never forget the sound of the storm. Never heard wind that powerful before or since. I don't know how close the tornado was, it didn't touch down on campus - but did hit parts of Lansing, Michigan. The door to the dorm we were in had been pulled off its hinges and the screaming wind we heard was simply unbelieveable. It was enough for me to know I never wanted to get anywhere closer to a tornado's path
