I am munsif ali, age;39, from the city of hyderabad, pakistan. I love watching national geographic tv. on 29 april, 2008, a programe titled planet mechanic was put on air. The brilliant enginner was with his venture to produce bio-gas from buffalow dung. He used water tank, and later I wondered, why he could not be able to start the engine, after completion all phases of production. I watched a programme on this ngc about a community of china who were successfully running a generator on bio-gas.
well the engineer should have cleared an engineering point, while running an internal combustion engine, that gas can not be directly supplied to piston for burining. in automobiles you must have seen a an spherical box , which contain a flat rubber thru which gas pressure is passed, to reach carbeurator, in this way supply only the required community. The planet mechanic was developing the pressure from the first tank, by apply weight on the drum. but this also could not help and the engine did not start. further I have a question, wether water is required to increase pressure or filteration of gas thru water molecules.
secondly what other procedures can be adopted to store bio-gas having both burning capacity and pressure.
