Staff Pick Picture Preview: Human Footprint

February 22, 2008
Human Footprint Coming Soon
Apparently rubber ducky...you are not the only one.

This picture comes from the talented Erin Smith in our communications department.

Why all the rubber duckys? Well each one represents one of the 28,433 showers that each of us will take in a lifetime. This is only one part of our individual footprint here on Earth. Our Human Footprint is not only determined by the goods or resources that we consume daily, but also what is needed to produce, package and transport everything that we use. The show will put all literal figures into visual displays, that is sure to stun some of us.

More from the National Geographic Channel's special Human Footprint coming soon here on the NGC Blog.

Ron Martin:

Is there any chance of acquiring a photo copy of this photograph ? I collect Mole & Thomas photos - this sort of fits. Thanks, Ron
