It's unfortunate that American TV and press has to dumb down everything to appease advertizers who want to reach the ever declining inteligence level of their target audience.
It's sad that "nat geo" has resolved to go the way of KFC, Sunny D, and other brands who thought it would be cute to oversimplify their brand names or dumbed them down because they didn't think Americans could pronounce such big words as Kentucky or Delight.
NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC had been the last beacon of hope for American television. I thought the whole purpose of the Society was to EDUCATE, not dumb down it's audience.

Brice:
I feel as though your comments insult the whole American society. Kentucky Fried Chicken went to the "KFC" route due to the increase in health awareness among Americans to eliminate the word "fried". Obviously you sound as though you are not business oriented! Marketing makes the world spin!

'Dumb down'? Why would exploring the physiology of how the human body can accomplish amazing feats of strength and endurance be a dumb thing? Especial when utilizing the most advanced sensors and software today’s science has to offer. I know both of the brothers personally and I can say they are not dumb people. The laundry list of accomplishments that the Pumphrey Brothers have earned is a long one. The human body is an amazing thing and just because you CAN’T roll up a frying pan doesn’t make you any smarter… Michael FCPD
